«There is nothing in the world that does not speak to us.
Everything and everyone reveals its own nature,
character and secrets, continuously.
The more we deploy our inner senses,
the better we will be able to understand the voice of all things».»Hazrat Inayat Khan («Music and Mysticism»)
Everything that exists vibrates: every atom, every cell, every stone, every plant, every being.
In essence we are vibration which, according to its frequency, miraculously manifests itself as matter, body, sound or colour. If we stop to truly contemplate, feel, listen or look, we can contact this essence of ourselves and everything around us.
For this we use the voice and ancient traditional instruments, such as the Tibetan singing bowls, the gongs, and others of more recent creation.
These instruments have in common an enormous variety of harmonic tones and vibrations that touch us deeply. Applied with a loving and clean intentionality they can open the way to get closer to our essence, our energy, our body and our emotions.
They harmonise imbalances by releasing physical, emotional and energetic blockages in their path. The path of sound helps us to calm the mind and live presence in the here and now.
All the instruments we use in our trainings, concerts and therapies are chosen for their richness in natural harmonics, their deep effects and their relative playability. This makes it easier to focus more on the essence of sound and the depth that is within a tone.
INSTRUMENTS
Oriental gongs (Tam Tam and Wind or Feng)
Meridian Gongs are handcrafted and tuned in Wuhan, China, according to their centuries-old and ancestral tradition.
Depending on their sound structure and quality, they emit, in addition to the fundamental tone, other principal tones as well as an enormous wealth of harmonics. This fact allows them to be played in different ways and to be used in concerts and sound baths as well as in meditation and therapy.
Each gong is unique in character and sound, which can also be influenced by environmental conditions. That is to say, depending on the place where they are played, the acoustics of the room, the temperature, the humidity, etc., the sound and vibration they emit can vary.
Traditionally, the Tam Tam gongs are used throughout Asia in traditional music, ceremonies, popular events and theatre. They have also been used to cleanse and harmonise spaces, as well as to accompany traditional songs and dances. The Feng gongs are also used in Chinese theatre and opera to represent the voice of the warrior and the roar of the tiger.
In western practices they are highly appreciated by composers for their richness in harmonics, their deep sound and vibration. In sound therapies, they are very useful for diagnosis, energetic cleansing of spaces and people, and to accompany processes of transformation and healing.
Thanks to all our experience and musical background, from classical music to ethnic music, through different musical styles, we travelled to China to personally select, one by one, the Meridian gongs. Gongs of exceptional quality, sound and vibration, suitable for classical music concerts, sound baths, therapies and meditation, as well as other applications of the same musical instrument.
Tibetan singing bowls or Himalayan
Each ancient Tibetan or Himalayan bowl, is handmade, made of an alloy between 5-9 metals and a unique sound that intrigues us with its rich harmonic tones and effects.
Patsini's recent research reveals that a fascinating multitude of types of antique bowls and many different alloys within the Buddhist and Hindu translations, each with their specific characteristics and applications.
The range of their shades depends on the proportions of each metal in the alloy, the size, weight and their shape, thickness and internal structure. Each bowl is different, unique. Its specific use depends on a multitude of factors of the bowl itself such as dominant tones, harmonics, character and types of vibrations.
It also depends on the needs of the person who chooses the singing bowl to accompany his or her personal process or its function in therapies, concerts, meditations or sound baths.
The vibrations of the bowls enter the body, relaxing and strengthening the body's inner harmony. When they find a blockage in their path they massage the blockages cellularly until they are released, opening the channels to the natural flow of vital energy. These are blockages on physical, emotional and energetic levels.
They also enter the brain where they facilitate entry into other states of consciousness that lead to deep peace and relaxation (alpha and delta). In these states it is easier to broaden the perspective to see everyday situations in a different way.
All bowls used in trainings, concerts and private consultations are vintage and newly created bowls of superior, professional quality, selected by Jacomina, Patsini and Lídia on their annual trips to Nepal.
In addition, all of the bowls we use and those offered in the Jacomina Sounds, have gone through a unique cleaning and restoration treatment in the world, which restores the bowls to their original sound, prevents further oxidation and the transmission of heavy metals into our blood through the skin.
Tingshas (crotals / bells)
The tingshas are two metal cymbals that, when played against each other, produce piercing sounds. The tingshas that Jacomina brings from Nepal are mainly produced in Tibetan refugee camps, some incorporating the metals of broken Tibetan singing bowls.
Quality tingshas, suitable for therapy and cleansing, are distinguished by their purity and long-lasting sound. They are very effective and very practical due to their weight and size.
They are the most precise ones that are applied to unblock specific points in the body. They are also very useful for cleansing and restoring balance in the energy fields of people and spaces.
Voice
The voice expresses the relationship with the world and with oneself, the mirror of all blockages and inner tensions. It is the closest instrument with an enormous capacity and strength to reconnect the one who sings with his Essence. In the East they call it the way of the Voice. the quickest way to God, to the Union with the Creation
One approach is the use of the voice as a vibrational instrument that can dissolve crystallisations and energetic blockages that have formed in the body, based on undigested experiences. Each system of the body has its specific blockages (the body on the physical level, the organs on the emotional level, the glands on the level of interaction with the chakras, etc.).
By clearing these blockages, the voice can resonate more and more with the body and the harmonics that were hidden in the blockages start to come out. As a result, the voice becomes a crystalline voice, with an enormous healing capacity, in contact with the soul and the Essence of the people who sing and receive.
Another approach, more shamanic and ancestral, is the use of the voice to unite with everything that vibrates, be it an instrument, a bird, the sea or whatever. In this way it is possible to unite and merge with all existence, singing with its sounds and vibrations.
Listening
There are many ways to listen. True listening leads to a deep connection with oneself, with the world and with nature, in the present moment.
